Alumnus Jeremiah Glazer (B.A. 2005) to speak at 2015 Commencement Ceremony

Jeremiah Glazer _ 01Keeping with recent tradition, the Department of Sociology is pleased to announce that it will once again welcome an alumnus from ten years’ past as our commencement speaker. Jeremiah Glazer (B.A. ’05) will return to Boston University to address the 2015 graduating seniors and their families.

Jeremiah Glazer graduated from Boston University’s College of Arts and Sciences in May 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, in Sociology. After two years of living and working in New York City, Mr. Glazer went to the University of Chicago to earn his Master’s degree in the Humanities, with a concentration in Philosophy, finishing a thesis on Wittgenstein entitled: “Taking a Wider Look Round: A Social View of Rule-Following”. Following his Master’s degree, Mr. Glazer entered the documentary film industry as an editor and producer, working on numerous television and film projects including the Tribeca-award winning documentary “Give Up Tomorrow”, and the Sundance-award winning doc “Tibet in Song”. In 2011, Mr. Glazer started working at Etsy, the world’s largest online handmade and vintage marketplace, and is currently the Video Production Manager for the site.
