Blaine Smith entered the PhD program in Sociology in 2020, after earning a BA in Sociology and Political Science from American University. After graduating, he worked as a LGBTQ+ Health Research Specialist at an LGBTQ+ clinic in Washington, DC. His research focuses on the intersections of urban sociology, queer studies, and public health.
