Dear colleagues,

As you may know, the Jewish holiday, Passover, will begin before sundown on Saturday, April 12th and ends after nightfall on Sunday, April 20th. Those observing Passover may miss evening classes the week of April 14th to observe activities for the holiday.

In order to accommodate SPH students observing Passover, it would be helpful for faculty to allow extensions on assignments and opportunities to make up examinations.

Students are encouraged to reach out to faculty with individual requests/accommodations. Faculty may refer to the Boston University Policy on Religious Observance in determining how to provide accommodation if requested.

Recognizing that it may be difficult for students to find food options that align with Passover practices on campus, Graduate Student Life will be providing a limited selection of snacks in the student lounge. Please note that availability may vary. As a reminder, the Boston University food pantry is always available for students experiencing food insecurity—if you are facing food insecurity, please reach out to Mary Murphy-Phillips for support at mcmurph@bu.edu.
