Curriculum
The Management and Public Health (MBA/MPH) dual degree program provides insight into the complexities of the social, economic, cultural, political, behavioral, and environmental factors that affect public health, in addition to providing students the necessary know-how for higher level business and management roles. The result? A graduate with both an MBA and MPH degree, well-equipped to become a leader in the field of public health.
How the MBA/MPH Dual Degree Works
The MBA/MPH dual degree program is carefully designed to provide a comprehensive and rigorous foundation in the core disciplines of public health with a strong emphasis on mastery of both concepts and skills, as well as in-depth training in management.
This two-year, full-time program consists of 82 credits distributed between the School of Public Health and Questrom School of Business, with a minimum of 40 credits in residence at SPH. For all program requirements, view the BU Bulletin.
While students are enrolled in both the MBA and MPH degree programs, they pay only one full-time tuition charge each year. For summer courses, students pay per credit. Applicants to Questrom School of Business are automatically eligible for merit-based scholarships. See the Questrom tuition and financial aid page for more information.

Outcomes
Career Preparation
Accomplished public health professionals are in high demand in today’s job market. Equally important are well-equipped managers who are both efficient and effective. This dual-degree couples both of these important areas, leading to extensive career opportunities. MBA/MPH dual degree candidates have access to career advice through the School of Public Health and Questrom School of Business to help identify, interview for, and secure positions as they move forward along their career path.
Admissions
Admission Requirements
Applicants interested in the dual MBA/MPH must submit completed applications to both the School of Public Health and Questrom School of Business. Students may not apply for the dual degree if they have begun the MPH; however, students who are enrolled in their first semester of the full-time MBA program may seek enrollment in the MPH program as a dual-degree student.
Once enrolled, students pursuing the MBA/MPH will join the Health Sector Management (HSM) program at Questrom School of Business and choose a certificate at the School of Public Health. Please note that students cannot choose the Healthcare Management or Program Management certificates due to overlap with the core MBA and Questrom Health Sector Management courses.
