What were your favorite things about studying at BU? There are many opportunities to be involved in statistical practice outside the classroom. During my time at BU, I worked with faculty members on research projects and became a teaching assistant, which were valuable experiences that helped to reinforce what I had learned through coursework.

What are you doing now? I am currently working at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center as a biostatistician.  I am involved in the statistical analysis for randomized controlled trials and cohort studies.

What’s next for you? Since graduating and starting my career in biostatistics, I have decided that the next step in my professional development is to pursue a doctorate degree.

Personal interests/hobbies: I enjoy travelling, biking, reading, and cooking.

Why did you choose BU? I initially chose BU for my MA in biostatistics because of the balance the program offered in terms of theory and applied courses. I chose to continue on in the PhD program because of the supportive community and the research opportunities BU offered.

How has BU prepared you for your future? BU has provided me the foundation of theoretical concepts as well practical research experience needed for an eventual job in the pharmaceutical industry.

What are your favorite things about studying at BU? I have found the community of faculty and students very supportive throughout my time at BU. Professors always welcome questions and offer guidance. The faculty has also been very helpful in acquiring new and interesting research opportunities.

Personal Interests/Hobbies: Baking, reality television, and spending time with my dog.

How has BU has prepared you for your future? Providing a range of courses that give me a foundation in theory, but also lots of hands on practice in my chosen field.

What are your favorite things about studying at BU? Great professors who have connections to industry, nice campus with excellent location in Boston.

What are your plans after graduation? Work for a medical device or pharmaceutical company as a biostatistician for clinical trials
