Henrik T. Sorensen, DMSc

Biography

Henrik Toft Sørensen is professor of clinical epidemiology, and is founder and chair of Department of Clinical Epidemiology at Aarhus University Hospital, which was established in 2000. He is a physician and specialist in internal medicine and hepatology, has trained at several major Danish hospitals and acted as a clinician until 2005. He has been affiliated with Boston University since 2005.

Dr. Sørensen has more than 25 years of experience in clinical and epidemiological research. His research covers, among others, pharmacoepidemiology, epidemiological methods and determinants of the prognosis of several chronic diseases. Dr. Sørensen is author or co-author of more than 1,400 publications and has been supervisor for more than 60 doctoral students. He is Editor in Chief of Clinical Epidemiology.
