Around BU
This department includes Reservations & Sales, Event Services, Tsai Performance Center, and the Summer Conference Housing program. They have a whole staff of event planners so if you absolutely don’t know where to go, try them. Of course, I bet the SAO Activities Consultants would be jealous you didn’t go to them first.
We encourage all groups to plan their upcoming event with the SAO Activities Consultants. They are your BEST resource for how to get things done at BU! All events are now planned (and requests sent to SPS) using Engage.
It’s hard to keep track of what’s in each BU classrooms, but this website is a great resource to jog our memories. It has a basic inventory of all Registrar classrooms, their capacities, and AV equipment. Note that proprietary classrooms, labs, and non-academic spaces are not listed here, but that doesn’t take away from how much good information this site has.
What’s not to love about the Dean of Students? They work all day to make your BU experience a good one!
25Live is BU’s room scheduling system. For student groups, you will have a designed person who will be trained and have access to reserve space on behalf of your organization. (Recommended browsers for 25Live are Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.) Reservations & Sales is also a division of Events & Conferences.
Well, if you are having your event at Tsai, you won’t need SPS services as they have an in-house tech staff. And they are always happy to provide guidance to students about upcoming events. If you are interested in renting the Tsai for your event, they start booking in February for the next academic year so make your request early! Dates fill up fast there.
INFORMATION SERVICES & TECHNOLOGY
The IS&T website is a great source of information geared directly at the BU community, with how-to guides, training, and learning & event technology information. Whether you are trying to connect your phone to the BU network or learn how to build a WordPress website (like this one), you will find a wealth of knowledge on their site.
