1/26: BUSSW Faculty Join Dr. Nabila El-Bassel for Conversation on Social Work Leadership in Substance Use Treatment and Social Justice Advocacy

The Grayken Center for Addiction at Boston Medical Center partners with the Center for Innovation in Social Work & Health (CISWH) at Boston University School of Social Work (BUSSW) to present a panel discussion exploring social work leadership at the intersection of substance use treatment and social justice advocacy.

Dr. Nabila El-Bassel, director of the Social Intervention Group at Columbia University, will share insights from her federally funded work in substance use and HIV prevention and intervention. She will also be interviewed by CISWH Director Dr. Tami Gouveia and participate in a discussion moderated by BUSSW Prof. Christina Lee along with faculty colleagues Ruth Paris, Jordana Muroff, Luis Alvarez-Hernandez, and Peter Treitler where they will discuss their work in substance use prevention, treatment, and social justice advocacy.

The hybrid event will be held in person at BUSSW and virtually via Zoom.
