What happens when early parenthood is accompanied by trauma, immigration to a new country, limited resources, and a lack of community connections? An upcoming talk by Prof. Ruth Paris seeks to answer that question and provide tools for healing. On February 11th, Prof. Paris and Karen Garber, LICSW, will present as part of the Infant-Parent Training Institute’s speaker series. This series aims to build resilience and relieve trauma in Latinx immigrant parents and children. Her talk, “Learning from Latinx Immigrant Parents: An Evidence-Based Treatment to Address Trauma in Young Children & Parents,” will cover an evidence-based clinical approach that showed positive outcomes for both parents and children.
