3/26: BUSSW Co-Sponsors Sargent College’s 2025 Drench Lecture with Tracy Kidder 

Boston University School of Social Work (BUSSW) is a co-sponsor of BU Sargent College’s 2025 Meredith E. Drench Lecture, “Variations on the Problem of Goodness,” delivered by world-renowned author Tracy Kidder.  

Among Tracy Kidder’s enormously influential books is “Mountains Beyond Mountains” which chronicles the extraordinary work of Dr. Paul Farmer, a pivotal figure in international health care who served as an advisory board member for the Center for Innovation in Social Work & Health (CISWH) at BUSSW prior to his death in 2022. The school’s Paul Farmer Professorship is named in his honor.

The Meredith E. Drench Lecture is hosted by Boston University’s Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. In addition to BUSSW, the 2025 lecture is co-sponsored by BU’s Wheelock College, School of Public Health, and Center for Forced Displacement.
