9/21: CTSI Community Engagement Speaker Series Features BUSSW Community

Members of BU School of Social Work (BUSSW) and Boston Medical Center (BMC) will give a panel discussion on community engagement as part of the BU Clinical & Translational Science Institute’s (CTSI) Community Engagement Speaker Series. Astraea Augsberger, BUSSW professor and investigator for BU CTSI, will moderate the discussion on “Community Engagement Across Campus: Resources to Advance Health Equity.” The event will focus on why community engagement in research is important, barriers to community engagement, lessons learned from the panelists’ work, and resources to support community engagement.
Attendees will learn about a conceptual model of community engagement as it relates to health equity, understand the importance of community engagement across campuses, and share resources to continue building a culture of community engagement.

“Community Engagement Across Campus” is a part of BU CTSI’s Building a Culture of Community Engagement Speaker Series which is held on the 3rd Thursday of each month to showcase different applications of community-engaged research.
