Position BUSSW as a Leader in Social Justice, Education, Advocacy & Research

Objectives & Tactics

Promote our innovations in research, scholarship, education, and social outcomes

Attract diverse talent, funding, and community partners to the school

  • Collaborate with BU Development & Alumni Relations to utilize all communications tools to strategically amplify designated funding opportunities 
  • Pursue strategic presence at targeted sessions and events at select conferences every year
  • Develop targeted content (web page, newsletter, collateral, etc.) to reach designated community partner; collaborate with faculty to identify

Expand recruitment of students from underrepresented groups in social work to better reflect the broader community

  • Develop specific marketing content that highlights the contributions of the Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) community within our school; audit the current state
  • Develop grassroots outreach (social media strategy, customer relationship management (CRM) nurture campaigns, etc.) to the BIPOC community, and train interested faculty in social media self-promotion with particular attention to BIPOC faculty needs.
  • Form advisory panel with brand ambassadors from students, staff, alumni, and faculty who work with/represent the BIPOC community to advise and review outreach efforts and represent us positively in their networks; meet 3 times per year
