Hudson Valley 360: CADER Partners with NY State Agencies to Offer Disability Training to Eldercare Workforce

The Center for Aging & Disability Education & Research (CADER) at BUSSW has partnered with the New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA) and the New York State Developmental Disabilities Planning Council (DDPC) to deliver an online training course designed to help New York’s eldercare workforce better understand intellectual and developmental disabilities and their impact.
CADER will soon operate under a new model called the Network for Professional Education at BUSSW, an innovative entity that will function as a nexus to connect alumni, faculty and external agencies.
Led by Research Assistant Professor Bronwyn Keefe, CADER has provided online certifications and trainings for New York state agencies for more than six years. To date, NYSOFA’s online training academy features over twenty CADER offerings for New York aging services staff.
