On March 3, six faculty researchers from the Boston University School of Social Work (BUSSW) presented critical findings on how early exposure to economic hardship during childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood can shape long-term economic and health outcomes.
The event, held at BU’s Photonics Center , featured lightning talk presentations and a panel discussion, offering a lifetime perspective on policy solutions aimed at breaking the cycles of economic insecurity.
The event was moderated by Professor and Associate Dean for Research Hyeouk “Chris” Hahm, PhD, and featured presentations from Professor Dolores Acevedo-Garcia, PhD, Director of the Institute for Equity in Child Opportunity & Healthy Development (IECOHD); Associate Professors Yoonsook Ha, PhD, and Tom Byrne, PhD; Professor Mary Collins, PhD, Assistant Professor Peter Treitler, PhD, and Professor Judith Gonyea. Following the presentations, the event concluded with a panel Q&A session and reception.
