John Paul Horn, PhD (SSW’20), LMSW, studies higher education as a social/economic mobility mechanism for former foster youth. His focus is on the individual, relational, and organizational factors affecting educational outcomes. He works with Professor Renée Spencer on various mentoring projects and stays active in national child welfare policy advocacy efforts. His professional experience includes community practice, healthcare, education, training/technical assistance, and child welfare advocacy. Mr. Horn is a former foster youth of the California foster care system and a proud member of the Foster Care Alumni of America.
