Ms. Posey Gordon has worked in the field of social work since 1988. She worked within a community day program for the chronically mentally ill upon graduation from undergraduate. She returned in 1990 to graduate school to complete her MSW. Ms. Posey Gordon is currently employed by the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, Tampa, Florida. She has been with the Veterans Health Administration since 1991. She has worked both the medical and mental health sides of the health care system. The highlights within her career have been with psychiatry, women’s mental health, suicide prevention, polytrauma (traumatic brain injury) spinal cord injury and education. She has a vast background of experience. She currently is the program director for the Home Based Primary Care program. This is an interdisciplinary program that manages Veterans within their home when they can no longer present to the hospital for care.
Ms. Posey Gordon personally enjoys spending time with her husband, their labradoodle, Remi and kitty, Thief as well as their extended family. She loves the outdoors and activity that includes working out and overall life enjoyment.
