Student Emergency Fund

BUSSW has created a limited emergency fund available to help currently enrolled MSW students who are experiencing acute emergencies and are seeking a one-time request for financial assistance. While we are committed to supporting our students in a variety of ways, please understand that we may not be able to address some situations due to limited funds. For this reason, there will be a maximum amount of $250 available to student applicant. Please note that in certain situations we also offer limited one-time SSW loans to assist when Federal Unsubsidized Loan and credit-based loan eligibility has been exhausted.

In order for us to assist students, we need to ensure that there isn’t an owed balance for the current semester or if the student has reached their maximum budget eligibility with other financial assistance. Final determinations regarding these requests will be made after careful consideration of each situation after reviewing their financial aid status.

For those students who may be dealing with food insecurity, please find helpful information here.
