U.S. News Ranks BU School of Social Work Among Top 10 in the Nation
March 20, 2018 — The most recent U.S. News edition of “America’s Best Graduate Schools” ranks the Boston University School of Social Work (BUSSW) #10 in the country, up from its #12 ranking in 2016.
“We are thrilled to learn of our top 10 ranking by U.S. News, the first time we have reached this level in our school’s history,” said Dean Delva. “This recognition, out of 251 social work graduate programs, is a testament to the extraordinary work our BUSSW community does to improve the lives of some of the most vulnerable populations in the world.”
The timing of the rankings is particularly relevant during National Social Work Month and BU’s celebration of 100 years of social work education. The social work program rankings are based solely on a five-point peer assessment score. To gather the data, U.S. News asked deans, program directors and senior faculty to judge the academic quality of programs in their field on a scale of 1 (marginal) to 5 (outstanding).
