Doug Scalise

After graduating from BUSTH and serving from 1989-1995 as the pastor of Prospect Hill Baptist Church in Prospect Park, PA, Rev. Dr. Douglas Scalise and his wife Jill moved to Brewster, MA on Cape Cod. Since October, 1, 1995 Doug has been the Lead Pastor of Brewster Baptist Church, an American Baptist congregation. His philosophy of local church ministry is that a congregation should lift up Jesus and fulfill the Great Commandment and the Great Commission by serving its community externally while producing disciples internally. By God’s grace since coming to Brewster Baptist Church the congregation has more than tripled in size, growing to over 500 members, raised more than $2,400,000 to complete a 17,000 square foot addition, offers three worship services each Sunday (two contemporary, one traditional), developed numerous new ministries, become a leader in mission support in ! the ABCUSA as well as leading mission work trips to places such as Gulfport, MS, Rocky Mount, NC, Kodiak, AK, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic. BBC has also used radio and local television to reach unchurched people.
Doug’s interests in ministry include consistently effective preaching, worship, spiritual formation, missions, leadership, pastoral care, and church health.
