I am a scholar and practitioner in the area of sacred music. I have served as organist, pianist, and choir director at United Methodist and Episcopal congregations in Maine, Florida, Massachusetts, and Iowa. I have also taught undergraduate classes in the areas of music ministry, global music, counterpoint, and composition. My areas of research include emerging liturgy and music as well as the music of the Order of Semperingham, a twelfth-century English monastic order. I participate in the Fellowship of United Methodist Musicians, the Hymn Society, the North American Academy of Liturgy, and I am a member of the Order of Saint Luke.
