Innovative, Contextually and Socially Responsive Teaching and Programs

STH will model creative, proactive teaching, practices, curricular and co-curricular programs, and interdisciplinary partnerships that cultivate transformational leaders equipped to address current challenges in the academy, churches, and diverse religious communities, as well as the evolving nature of religious leadership.
Deepen local, national, and international religious partnerships and partnership with BU

STH will seek feedback and conversation with current partners, pursue new global partnerships, and connect our students with local and global alumni. We will strengthen collaborations with wider BU, especially around leadership formation.

Assess Formation at STH

STH will assess and strengthen academic formation by pursuing and implementing a Curriculum Revision, strengthening academic support services such as the STH Writing Center, and enhancing Spiritual Formation.

Uphold pedagogical importance of co-curricular activities

STH will foster increased collaboration between co-curricular activities with coursework and encourage and celebrate increased faculty and staff participation in community activities.

Assess and strengthen Communities of Learning (COL)

STH will assess and strengthen its COLs by clarifying goals and benchmarks, improving funding, and evaluating administrative structures.

Expand contextual education opportunities at STH

STH will foster increased placement opportunities in and outside the Boston area, explore expanded chaplaincy and international placements, grow summer placements, and cultivate interdisciplinary contextual learning experiences. STH will seek increased financial support for contextual education placements and travel studies.
