Contextual Education Evaluation Process by Supervisors

All Contextual Education Supervisors evaluate their student(s) at the end of each semester using the online evaluation form, which can be found below. Whether you are serving as an on-site supervisor, theological supervisor, or faculty project supervisor, your student needs your evaluation to determine whether they have achieved the learning plan that was initially developed at the start of the semester, and for constructive feedback regarding their professional and personal formation. All types of supervisors complete the same online form.

Supervisor Evaluation Form

Will my evaluation stay confidential?

The Contextual Education Office keeps all supervisor evaluations on file in perpetuity as part of a student’s ConEd record. While we don’t immediately share supervisor evaluations with students, they can request to see them for their mid-degree-program review or as part of a current or future ordination process. So, no, your evaluation will not necessarily stay confidential. This is why we suggest that supervisors meet one-on-one with their students to share their compliments and critiques directly prior to submitting their evaluation form. If there is a concern you do not feel comfortable adding to the evaluation form, you can always be in touch with the Contextual Education Office staff directly to share it by email or in a Zoom call. Just email sthope@bu.edu to make an appointment with us.
