Stipends

Stipends are divided into four monthly payments per term and will be paid on the fourth Friday of each month (September-April).

US citizens only will not have taxes withheld by the University but are still responsible for reporting the stipends accurately to the IRS and paying taxes if required.

US permanent residents/green card holders and international students will have 14% tax withheld, unless their government has a tax treaty with the US and they then file the appropriate tax-exempt forms with the University. Also, see the “Financial Aid and Taxes” section on the Tuition and Financial Aid page for more.
