Administrative Coordinator, Mass Council of Churches

The Massachusetts Council of Churches seeks an Administrative Coordinator to assist the Executive Director in the administrative work of the Council. We are searching for someone who is affable, flexible and committed to administrative excellence in a Christian institution. The Administrative Coordinator often serves as the first point of contact for constituents and member denominations. The position is ~21 hour per week, on site in our Boston office. The focus of this position is to maintain all routine administrative functions of the Massachusetts Council of Churches with decorum and joy. Administrative Coordinator Clerical Responsibilities:
Fulfill email and telephone requests for Council information
Distribute incoming email and outgoing mail
Maintain all financial transactions for bookkeeper’s access
Maintain database including the
Input and maintenance of records on database that will allow individual and congregational contacts to be sorted by zip code, town, contribution history, and denomination.
Maintain the MCC Constant Contact newsletter email list and assist Executive Director in preparation of monthly Constant Contact emailing
Maintain the MCC webpage and social media presence to assure content is current and relevant
Assists in overseeing the financial programs including preparation of a monthly “Treasurer’s Report”
Collaborate with the Executive Director/ Board Treasurer in the preparation of the annual budget.
Assist the auditor in the annual audit process
Assist the Executive Director and Board of Directors in preparation for quarterly Board and Investment committee meetings
Coordinate the guest preaching and teaching schedule and maintain the calendar of the Executive Director
Coordinate and arrange meetings and assisting in the coordination of programs and events
The Administrative Coordinator reports to the Executive Director of the MCC
Qualifications

  • Competent in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent phone, social media,and interpersonal skills
  • Committed to ecumenical and pastoral sensitivity, including confidentiality as needed.
  • Ability to work efficiently and flexibly, with multiple projects at once
  • Skills in social media, web site, Constant Contact, and database management
  • Knowledge and appreciation of Church
  • Commitment to and interest in working in an intentionally Christian institution, with openness to working in interfaith collaborations
