Women’s Health and Leadership Lecture Series

"Factors in Women’s Mental and Physical Health Through the Life Span" The health of women is affected by a complex and multifaceted range of factors that promote and challenge well being. This lecture will provide an overview of factors that affect women’s mental and physical health in adulthood and late-life. Factors such as intergenerational transmission of health risk, childhood adverse events, social factors such as caregiving roles, culture and immigration in addition to specific health conditions that affect women’s well being will be presented. Finally, access to healthcare and disparities that facilitate care or cause barriers for subgroups among women will be discussed.
