Dr. Richard H. Gentzler (’83) Releases New Work on Older Adult Ministry

Dr. Richard H. Gentzler, Jr. (’83) has authored a new book, An Age of Opportunity: Intentional Ministry By, With and For Older Adults, published 2018 by Discipleship Resources, Nashville.  As with his previous books, Dr. Gentzler once again engages church leaders with knowledge and information about our aging society and the need for churches to re-imagine congregational vitality through intentional older adult ministry.  “We are living in an age of opportunity with an aging population that congregations too often ignore.” Following his retirement from the General Board of Discipleship and the Susquehanna Conference of The United Methodist Church, Dr. Gentzler serves as the director of Encore Ministries for the Golden Cross Foundation of the Tennessee Conference.  And, in addition to work with the church, he serves the greater Nashville community by recently being elected President of the Board of Directors for the Council on Aging of Middle Tennessee.
