Prof. Luis Menéndez-Antuña inducted into the International New Testament Society
Assistant Professor of New Testament Luis Menéndez-Antuña has been inducted into the Society for the Study of the New Testament (Studiorum Novi Testamenti Societas, SNTS). Founded in 1939 for the furtherance of New Testament studies internationally, SNTS is the premiere international society for the critical study of the New Testament. Its journal, New Testament Studies, is published by Cambridge University Press.
Election to SNTS is one of the greatest honors a New Testament scholar can receive. Criteria for election include evidence of a high standard of scholarship across more than one major topic or specialism related to the New Testament” with multiple publications that “make a distinct contribution to knowledge in the discipline.” The election process requires two nominations by two different members from different institutions. The nominee must have an exceptional publishing record – typically one or two monographs and/or several peer-review articles in international journals.
