Spiritual Formation Assistant for Children, Teens, and Family Ministries, Part-Time, Episcopal: Chestnut Hill, MA
The Episcopal Parish of the Redeemer Chestnut Hill is seeking a part-time Spiritual Formation Assistant for Children, Teens, and Family Ministries to work 15 hours per week starting fall (August/September) of 2022 Church of the Redeemer is a healthy, program-sized church in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. The parish offers two Sunday morning services at 8:00 am, and 10:00 am, and, from September to June, a Sunday evening Eucharist at 5:00 pm. The Sunday School Program is at the center point of life at the Redeemer. From our children to our teen’s programming, our program’s overall mission is to help each student reach the goal of their existence, which is the unfolding of Christ’s person into the world through their own developed personality. We do this by creating age-appropriate programs for each age group that forms their minds, hearts, and hands into the image of Christ while valuing and respecting the full humanity, spirituality, and individuality of each student.
DUTIES:
This person will assist the Director in the spiritual formation of all children, teens, and families at the parish. They will do this by helping teach Sunday School (3yrs-6th grade), Confirmation Class, and Middle School Youth Group each Sunday. They will also help guide and lead a discussion for High School Youth Group on Sundays as well. They will plan and conduct three seasonal activities during the weekend (e.g., fall apple picking, spring swan boats) over a year for pre-teens and teens. They will be in charge of leading Sunday formation when the program director is away (4-9 weeks a year).
This job entails being available Sundays throughout the year and attending a few nightly meetings a few times a month. One must also be available to help, lead, and attend an outreach/relationship-building opportunity with one of our ministry partners with children, teens, and families at least once a month.
This job will not exceed 15 hours a week.
Position begins August/September 2021 (flexible startup date)
COMPENSATION:
Pay: $19,500.00 – $27,300.00 per year ($25-$35 per an hour) based on experience and education.
Two weeks off of paid vacation and also a paid week off between Christmas and the New Year.
