Fairbanks Union Church, Farmington, Maine, and New Portland Community Church, New Portland, Maine, (yoked churches), are looking for a part time supply Pastor.
We are looking for someone with deep faith who will live out that faith in ways that inspire faith in us. We seek a minister who believes that the Bible is a book inspired by the God but written by fallible human beings. Our congregation represents a variety of theological viewpoints; we seek a pastor with a progressive theology who can accept and support a variety of theological perspectives.
The person who serves us should be a good speaker and a good listener. We want someone who is empathetic and caring, who can challenge us to be strong in our faith in our best moments and support us in times of need. We seek a leader who will see her or himself as one stands with us, not someone who stands above us. We want someone who is energetic, and who really wants to live as part of our community, experiencing all the highs and lows alongside us through the long and sometimes harsh winters and the exceptionally beautiful summers.
Compensation: Effective Salary (Salary and Housing) $24,869
Benefits (Medical, Pension, Death/Disability, Temporary Disability, SECA) $14,368
