Enrollment for Summer Term 2025
The summer 2025 application materials for international partner students will be available on January 15, 2025. Sign up for an email reminder.
Session 1 2025:
- Session dates: May 20—June 27, 2025
- Registration deadline: April 4, 2025
Session 2 2025:
- Session dates: June 30—August 8, 2025
- Registration deadline: May 16, 2025
All international partner students should have a clean disciplinary record and a minimum grade average of B at their home institution.
How to enroll
- Submit the International Partner Student Online Enrollment Form.
- Send the documents listed below to STpartnr@bu.edu.

- Copy of your valid passport, including the data page and passport expiration date
- Registration Form for Summer 1 and/or Summer 2 (please leave the BU I.D. and Local Address sections blank)
- Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Waiver Form
- Financial documentation: Please read Estimated Expenses & Financial Information to determine which financial materials you need to submit. For information security purposes, when sending any bank statement or letter, be sure to black out your account number.
- Financial Sponsorship Certification, if your studies will be financed by an individual other than yourself, such as a family member.
Once we have received your Online Enrollment Form and all of your required documents, we will register you for your summer courses and send you your summer I-20 immigration document.

How to obtain your F-1 student visa
- Once you receive your Boston University I-20 document, pay the SEVIS fee to the US government and obtain a receipt.
- Once you have submitted all required registration documents, we will provide you with your Boston University summer I-20 immigration document. Instructions on how to pay the SEVIS fee will be included with your Boston University I-20 document. You will need your payment receipt to apply for your F-1 student visa at a US embassy or consulate.

- Complete your visa application and schedule your F-1 visa appointment with your local US embassy or consulate.
- Be sure to plan ahead, as the visa processing time for each US embassy and consulate varies. You must schedule your visa appointment in advance so that you have enough time to receive the F-1 visa before leaving your home country to come to the US.
