A champion for encouraging everyone to care about our natural world

About

I am the Director of Operations for Innovate@BU. I love to garden, birdwatch, and go to the beach. I gain a lot of peace from the natural world, so I am dedicated to helping people think about how to make sure we have a natural world to enjoy. I find great satisfaction in working with people who share that passion, and I enjoy helping others bring their ideas forward.

BU Highlights

Our role at Innovate@BU is to heighten awareness about innovation and entrepreneurship for all students on campus. Our goal is to make this something that all students will benefit from.

Partnering with BU Sustainability for the Sustainability Innovation Seed Grant seemed like a natural opportunity for Innovate@BU to heighten awareness for students with a certain area or passion they would like to pursue that may not be applied in their coursework. With BU Sustainability, we fund the Sustainability Innovation Seed Grants, which encourages students to develop their ideas and make progress on their innovations.

Outside of BU

Before coming to BU, I worked at WGBH Boston, which ignited my desire to make sure that learning is available to all people. I believe it is crucial for people to have free and easy access to information and education. When I’m not at BU, I’m part of a group of volunteers raising money to renovate our town library, Randall Library in Stow.

Advice for BU Students

If students are feeling any sense of climate anxiety, I suggest they come to any of our information sessions and events. Coming to these sessions and learning about what’s possible at the BUild Lab can help transform that anxiety into action. Also, understanding more about BU Sustainability resources can help students discover new ways to be involved around campus.
