Area Colleges Go Green with MGHPCC

Boston University is just one of five Massachusetts universities participating in the development of the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center. “The Holyoke facility is an important computational tool, running quadrillions of operations per second, with a power comparable to hundreds of thousands of desktop computers,” said Andrei Ruckenstein, Vice President for Research at Boston University and President of MGHPCC. “This ‘supercomputer’ will be connected by fast fiber to university campuses where most of the thinking and research will take place.”
