This week! Free shredding and disk/drive destruction for Information Security Week Oct 7-9
Monday, October 6th, 2014
As part of the 4th Annual Information Security Awareness Week, IS&T’s Information Security team will be bringing a shredding truck to the locations described below. We will be on hand to accept custody of your paper documents to ensure they are immediately shredded. In addition, we can assist with the destruction of hard drives, CDs or old floppy disks as described below:
- Tuesday, 10/7 from 9-12, in the Granby St. Parking Lot (CRC East: 665 Commonwealth Ave). We will be shredding documents and can crush any old hard drives you bring to us. (Note: if you have a large number of hard drives, please contact Information Security at buinfosec@bu.edu to arrange for a pickup.
- Wednesday, 10/8 from 11-1, in front of the Talbot Building (BUMC: 711 Albany Street). We will be shredding documents and BUMC IT staff will be on hand to help properly get rid of old computer hard drives, or even entire computers or laptops.
- Thursday, 10/9 from 9-12, in the parking lot behind Agganis Arena (CRC West: 925 Commonwealth Ave). We will be shredding any documents you bring to us.
To continue the University’s efforts in diverting waste from landfills and incinerators, sustainability@BU will participate at the Charles River Campus shred events to collect office electronics, batteries, and ink/toner cartridges for recycling.
