Tips for working remotely during the Comm. Ave Bridge replacement

As the Commonwealth Avenue Bridge Reconstruction Project begins, we would like to remind IS&T staff of some of the tools available to assist with working remotely.
Skype for Business 
Features
- Instant messaging
- Web access to Skype for Business meetings for anyone including invited guests – no BU affiliation or BU login/password required
- Online meetings featuring high-definition (HD) video from multiple participants, screen sharing, PowerPoint presentation, and more
- The integrated Skype for Business Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) provides free, high-quality audio
- Optional toll-free bridge integration (standard charges apply) allows participants to join Skype for Business meeting audio via telephone (Requires an ISR to Communication Services)
- Presence indication based on each person’s Outlook calendar, current Skype for Business activities, and manual settings.
- Easy access for Windows, Mac OS, Windows Phone, iPad, iPhone, and Android – download a version for your device
If you use a headset on campus while using Skype for Business, please remember to bring it home with you as well as your laptop power cord.

By logging into the self-care portal, you may activate the following features:.
Note: You must use the VPN to log in from off campus
- Call Forwarding- Allows you to call forward your line to another internal or external phone number
- Single Number Reach- Allows you to ring additional phone numbers when your office number is called.
- Please reference our Cisco Quick Reference Card for information on this and other phone features
- Receive your voice messages via email.
- This feature allows you to receive voice mail messages as a sound file in your email. A copy of the message will be delivered to your email inbox.
