Beginning on October 28, 2018, all currently installed Crashplan clients will be upgraded to Code42 version 6.5.2.  Note that the Crashplan product has been re-branded as Code42.  The upgrade will be scheduled and pushed by the Code42 server.  No client intervention required.

Clients running an unsupported operating system will not be automatically upgraded.  Backups and restores will continue to run normally in the short term, however these clients will be in an unsupported configuration.  These clients will need to either have their operating systems upgraded or seek an alternative backup solution.

Product changes:

• Peer to Peer (computer to computer) backups are no longer supported. Restores from existing archives may still be possible from the target computer.  Alternatively, in addition to the default Cloud backup target destination, external drives can be used as backup targets.
