RESOLVED: Outlook Web & Desktop – Sending Issues & 500 Error (Vendor Issue)

Description of Impact

Users were reporting issues with the Outlook Web App (OWA) and the desktop app.

  • – Web App: 500 error with a repeating redirect loop.
  • – Desktop App: Unable to send/receive emails.
  • This appeared to be a vendor-related issue with Microsoft. Reports started appearing on Downdetector around 3:25 PM EST, but Microsoft’s Health Status page didn’t acknowledge it at that time.

    Incident Description and Resolution

  • The issue appears to be resolved.
  • Outlook Web App is now accessible, and users can send emails from the desktop app again.
  • We will continue to monitor for any further disruptions, but at this time, no further action is needed.

    The cause of this incident was determined to be a vendor issue.
