We have established the Michael Krugman Technology Infrastructure Endowment Fund, in honor of his service and key role in the creation of the BU network. The income from this fund will be designated to support technology capital renewal and innovation at BU moving forward.

The University had blocks of sequential IP address space that we use as our IP address space. These address-space blocks were given to us and several Universities by the National Science Foundation in the early days of the internet. With good management of our address space, we do not use all the space we have.  We were able to sell a class of IP address space and have used the funds to start this endowment.

Michael Kurgman was at Boston University for 44 years with roles spanning undergrad and graduate student, teaching fellow, researcher, alum, husband and father of alums, IT manager, director, Associate VP, VP ad interim, and regional and national consortia co-founder and director. In honor of his service to the University we have established this endowment in his name.
