Blackboard Ultra: Switch to a Modern & Accessible Course View Based on User Feedback
The Blackboard Ultra Course view is available for instructors, course coordinators and staff who wish to migrate their Courses from the Original Course View. It is flexible, accessible, modern and designed from the ground up from user feedback.
This training will cover the basics of using Blackboard Ultra, including:
- The Ultra Dashboard
- User Interface Basics: Folders, Learning Modules, Documents, Tests
- AI Design Assistant: Use secure generative AI to automatically create Learning Modules, Test Questions, Rubrics and Discussions
- Gradebook
- Anthology Idea Exchange

Understanding Similarity reports in Turnitin Feedback studio and Google Draft Coach
This workshop introduces the Turnitin software, integrated with Blackboard and Turnitin Draft Coach tool, integrated with Google docs. We'll explore Turnitin Similarity Reports and explain similarity score, which is a percentage of a paper's content that matches to Turnitin's databases.

Introduction to Blackboard Ultra
Following the May 2020 upgrade to the Ultra Base Navigation, faculty now have the option to adopt the Ultra Course View. Individual courses can either be presented in the Original format or the new Ultra format. instructors may choose which format they would like to utilize for the online resources of their course. This training is dedicated to provide an overview of the Blackboard Ultra, show differences between the two formats, and demonstrate how to create basic contents/settings in Ultra format.

This session will focus on the basic tasks for setting up your Blackboard Learn course site. Participants can expect to get an overview of the system and to learn how create content folders, upload documents, create links, and add students to their course. This is a hands-on workshop where participants will work directly in the environment.

Introduction to Blackboard Ally
Blackboard Ally focuses on digital accessibility for students, seamlessly integrating with Blackboard courses. Ally provides guidance and tips for lasting improvements to your content accessibility, and in addition automatically creates alternative versions of compatible files. Bb Ally allows students to choose the type of file (compatible files) they want that best suits their needs.
With Blackboard Ally you can:
- Automatically check course materials against WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards
- Provide students with accessible alternative formats such as audio and electronic braille
- Receive guidance and step-by-step instructions to improve accessibility of your course content
This session will provide an overview of Alternative Formats, Accessibility Scores, and Course Accessibility Report.

Introduction to Gradescope
Gradescope is a feedback and assessment tool that reduces the pain and time associated with grading exams, homework, and other assignments. It is widely used for delivering assessments remotely and enables instructors and graders to provide better and more timely feedback, resulting in improved learning outcomes
By centralizing student submissions, scoring rubrics, individualized feedback, and statistical insights, Gradescope allows instructors to have a more streamlined grading system with their students. From homework to coding assignments to exams, Gradescope offers support for a spectrum of different types of assessments.
