The WordPress Media Library is the tool for managing all of your images, documents, audio, videos, and other static content. You can upload files right from your web browser, so a separate FTP client is no longer needed. WordPress also automatically creates multiple sizes of your images, including a thumbnail, making it easy to insert a thumbnail that links to the full-size image. Public access to specific files can be controlled by restricting access to customized Access Groups.

Each WordPress site has an 8 GB quota that should provide plenty of storage space for your static content. In addition, for those websites that make heavy use of audio and video, an A/V directory is an option. The A/V directory works with our Flash Streaming Server, which makes video content available to your visitors almost immediately.
