The Research Computing Services (RCS) group provides a broad set of scientific, engineering, mathematical, plotting, and other software packages for research computing. These packages are available to all University faculty members, their students, and their collaborators for research and for educational use in courses related to computational science.

Benefits

The use of a rich set of  preconfigured and compatible software tools and libraries can reduce development efforts and increase productivity. Clients bear no direct costs for software purchases or licenses. RCS maintains the software and hardware it runs on, and has expertise in many of the packages.

What to Expect

This service normally will be available 24 by 7 except for standard change windows, as described in IS&T’s standard policies, procedures, and schedules for making changes.

Requirements

Must be on a Research Computing Services (RCS) research project. Software is not available for commercial use.

Cost

No charge for the BU community.
Certain software may be available to industrial partners; there is a charge to industrial partners.
