Why do we require your personal email address?

All BU faculty, staff, students, and affiliates must have a personal email address on file to help safeguard your digital identity and so we can reach out to you when aspects of your identity are updated. This ensures that we will be able to reach and contact you regarding your BU account in the event that you are unable to receive communications directly to it. This personal email address will not be made available on the BU Directory.
