Globus is a platform for high-speed data transfers. It provides a convenient way to transfer between two file systems such as between the SCC, your desktop/laptop, cloud services like Google Drive, Dropbox, and other research clusters.

 

BU Globus Subscription

BU’s Globus subscription covers the following services:

Globus Connect Personal
  • Create and administer Personal Collections on any device (Windows, Mac, Linux).
Globus Connect Server
  • Administer a Globus Endpoint on your own Linux server.
Globus Standard Tier
  • Transfer management and reports.
  • Metadata indexing and file search.
  • HTTPS access (uploading and downloading files through a web browser).

     

    Limitations

    There are no limits on the quantity of data that you may transfer under our subscription. Limits imposed by underlying storage systems may apply, including storage quotas, data classification restrictions, and network connections. At this time, BU’s Globus subscription does not support the transferring or sharing of  Restricted Use data.
