BU LGBTQIA+ History Project Community Update Meeting
- Starts: 3:00 pm on Wednesday, November 2, 2022
- Ends: 4:00 pm on Wednesday, November 2, 2022
Are you interested in BU's LGBTQIA+ history? The LGBTQIA+ Center for Faculty & Staff is hosting a committee that is compiling the LGBTQIA+ history of BU. Come hear updates on the committee's work and learn ways to become involved.
Since its founding and through the creation of the BU Student Homophile League—the first gay student group in the area, and one of the first in the nation—through years of a closeted culture where students, staff, and faculty, experienced overt homophobia and transphobia; to the creation of the new LGBTQIA+ Center for Faculty & Staff, LGBTQIA+ people have made history at BU, LGBTQIA+ people have made history at BU. Now, help uncover and preserve this history.
The committee is open to BU staff, faculty, students, and alums. We are repeating this event on two dates (11/2 and 11/16) to capture more interest. If you are interested but not able to attend, please email lgbtqia@bu.edu and let us know.
