Caryne A. Nicholas is a fourth-year PhD Candidate who studies late twentieth-century queer and Afro-German history at BU. She also received her BA with honors in History from BU in 2021.

Their research interests currently revolve around understanding queer identity development through visual culture and space/place, and more generally, the relationship between queer communities and authoritarian regimes. They are also pursuing the acquisition of the BU Graduate Certification in Women, Gender, and Sexuality. 

In his free time, he enjoys playing video games, like Baldur’s Gate 3 and Crusader Kings 3, watching hour-long video essays, watching Marvel movies, and weightlifting.
