Apply to be a Student Ambassador

HTC Student Ambassador Program (2023 – 2024)

Who are you, really? Who do you want to be as a leader in today’s world?

The Student Ambassador program at the Howard Thurman Center for Common Ground (HTC) is a leadership development and spiritual formation program grounded in Howard Thurman’s beliefs, principles, and teachings on community building. Our Student Ambassadors are the pulse of the HTC – creating, facilitating, and implementing programs that bring people together and spread the ethos of Howard Thurman in the BU community and the world.

The Student Ambassador program is a maximum 8 – 10 hours/week commitment and the program runs from September to May. The program includes group readings, small group connections, and one-on-one mentorship opportunities, as well as developing a biweekly program open to the BU community. Students do not have to be religious or be part of a faith tradition, though a willingness to engage in interreligious dialogues and have a weekly grounding practice is required.

Applications for the HTC Student Ambassador Program are due Sunday, April 23rd at 11:59 PM EST.

Undergraduate students from all majors, schools, and years are welcome to apply. Students from systematically disenfranchised or minoritized backgrounds are especially encouraged to apply.

Interested students should complete the application form. For any questions please email James Eddy (jeddy@bu.edu).
