Minoring in Baseball
The boys of summer don’t play only at Fenway
The run-up to our national birthday is a good time to catch up on the national pastime. Both Boston-area minor league baseball teams are playing at home tonight.
The Lowell Spinners host the pride of Norwich, Conn., tonight, taking on the Connecticut Tigers. The Spinners, the Class-A farm team for the Boston Red Sox, play in the New York Penn League.
If you feel like crossing state lines, the Pawtucket Red Sox also play at home tonight against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. The Pawsox are Boston’s Triple-A affiliate from Rhode Island and play in the International League.
Game time for the Spinners tonight is 7:05 p.m. at LeLacheur Park, 450 Aiken St., Lowell, Mass. Ticket prices are $6 to $10. Find availability and directions to the park here. The Pawsox play at 6:15 p.m. at McCoy Stadium, One Columbus Ave., Pawtucket, R.I. General admission is $8 for adults and $5 for senior citizens and children 12 and younger. Directions are here.
