There are a few leadership roles available for students; Orientation Leader (OL) and Program Coordinator (PC). Both are equally important for the success of our program and in setting the tone for our future Terriers. Check out the information below to learn more!

Can I take summer classes?
For summer 2026, we will have 3 different positions. Please read below as details for each position will vary.
Program Coordinator (PC):PCs are able to take Summer Term 1 & 2 classes on a case-by-case basis, as long as classes do not directly interfere with Orientation responsibilities and are pre-approved by Orientation professional staff. Please discuss your potential class schedule with the Orientation leadership team before registering for classes.
Orientation Leader Cohort A (OL – A) July Start: OLs in Cohort A are eligible to take summer 1 classes without Orientation approval (keep in mind you will need to make your own housing accommodations for Summer 1 as Orientation housing won’t begin until Summer 2). Summer 2 classes must first get approval from the Orientation professional staff to ensure class times don’t directly interfere with Orientation responsibilities.
Orientation Leader Cohort B (OL – B) August Start: OLs in Cohort B are eligible to take summer 1 & summer 2 classes without Orientation approval. Please keep in mind you will need to make your own housing accommodations for Summer 1 & Summer 2 as OLs in Cohort B won’t move in until Friday, August 21st.
Are Orientation positions for the whole summer?
Program Coordinator (PC): Yes, PCs work the entirety of the summer (Tuesday, May 19, 2026 – Tuesday, September 1, 2026). PCs work Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm. Most Fridays during the summer PCs will work a half day (either 9am – 1pm or 1pm – 5pm), shifts will be determined as a team.
Orientation Leader Cohort A (OL – A) July Start: No, OLs in Cohort A do not work the full summer. OLs will work starting Summer Term 2 through Orientation week (Tuesday, July 7, 2026 – Tuesday, September 1, 2026). OLs will work on average 20 hours/week.
Orientation Leader Cohort B (OL – B) August Start: No, OLs in Cohort B do not work the full summer. OLs will work starting Friday, August 21, 2026 – September 1, 2026. OLs will work approximately 30 – 40 hours during training and Orientation week.
Is remote work available?
For summer 2026, Orientation job responsibilities are fully in-person for all Orientation positions. All students employees must work all hours on campus regardless of if they are meeting with new incoming students virtually.
Is summer housing provided?
Program Coordinator (PC): Yes, summer 1 & 2 housing will be provided for all Program Coordinators. PCs will move into bridge housing on Monday, May 18, 2026. Once summer housing rooms are ready, PCs will move into their summer housing assignment. PCs living on campus during the fall semester will move into their fall housing assignment on Friday, August 21, 2026. PCs living off campus during the fall semester will need to move out of their summer housing on August 8, 2026 and will be responsible for their own housing accommodations for the reminder of the summer. All PCs summer housing assignments will be in an apartment-style residence with a full kitchen. Meals will be provided by Orientation during bridge housing in May.
Orientation Leader Cohort A (OL – A) July Start: Yes, but only for summer 2. OLs in Cohort A will be provided housing starting Saturday, June 27, 2026. OLs living on campus during the fall semester will move into their fall housing assignment on Friday, August 21, 2026. OLs living off campus during the fall semester will need to move out of their summer housing on August 8, 2026 and will be responsible for their own housing accommodations for the reminder of the summer. All OLs summer housing assignments will be in an apartment-style residence with a full kitchen.
Orientation Leader Cohort B (OL – B) August Start: OLs in Cohort B who are living on campus during the fall semester will move into their fall housing assignments on Friday, August 21, 2026. OLs in Cohort B living off campus during the fall semester will be responsible for their own housing accommodations during their dates of employment.
Can I have another job/internship in addition to working for Orientation?
Program Coordinator (PC):PCs cannot have another on-campus job as the PC role is a full-time job throughout the summer.
Orientation Leader Cohort A (OL – A) July Start: OLs can have another job as long as it does not directly interfere with Orientation responsibilities. If you plan to work another job on campus during the summer, please inform the Orientation professional staff team. Students can not work more than 40 hours a week. OLs are not permitted to work another job or internship during Orientation week or any training days.
Orientation Leader Cohort B (OL – B) August Start: OLs can have another job as long as it does not directly interfere with Orientation responsibilities. If you plan to work another job during Orientation, please inform the Orientation professional staff team. Students can not work more than 40 hours a week. OLs are not permitted to work another job or internship during Orientation week or any training days.

I am studying abroad during Spring 2026, can I still apply?
Yes! Please indicate on your application you are studying abroad. Orientation will reach out to you about setting up a virtual interview once your application is submitted.
I have previously worked for Orientation, am I able to apply again?
Yes! Please complete the application above and indicate your previous role and what year(s) you worked with us. We will reach out with more information about next steps after your application has been submitted.

 

Can I be a Resident Assistant during Fall 2026 and work for Orientation?
No; Orientation week and RA training/move-in responsibilities directly conflict, making an RA ineligible to also work Orientation.
How many students will be hired for Orientation positions?

Please note the numbers below are a range and not exact number. The number of positions available may fluctuate depending on the needs of the Orientation program.

Program Coordinator (PC): 10 – 15 students
Orientation Leader Cohort A (OL – A) July Start: 25 – 30 students
Orientation Leader Cohort B (OL – B) August Start: 150 – 165 students
