International Students

International students are invited to attend any of our Orientation sessions that work best for you. Before booking flights and arranging travel plans, be sure to look at your population specific Orientation page. First-Year and Transfer students have different Orientation dates available. Within each page, you will find specific dates for your school/college. If you have any questions about which orientation session you are eligible for, please reach out to the Orientation office.

Be ready to listen, but also engage with students about who you are and the experiences that have brought you here to Boston University.

Please keep in mind the following:

• Registration went live on May 1, 2024.
• The University’s COVID-19 General Population Vaccination Policy strongly recommends that everyone remain up to date with all CDC COVID-19 vaccination recommendations. Please be sure to visit the Student Health Services website to review all incoming health requirements.
• Students must participate in all activities
• Late arrivals and early dismissals do not give you the opportunity to experience the full program. If you think you may miss part of your Orientation session, please reach out to us directly

International Student Program

As an international student, we have created a program during Orientation just for you! On Saturday, August 31, regardless of which Orientation session you attend, all international students will be required to attend the International Student Program. During this time you will learn critical information about being an international student at Boston University from the International Students & Scholars Office (ISSO) and Global Programs. Use this opportunity to ask questions and get to know your fellow Terriers. We will offer two rotations of the program and all students should have received an invitation via BU email to select their preferred time slot. The morning rotation will take place from 11am-1pm and the afternoon rotation will take place from 2pm-4pm. Both rotations will be hosted in the George Sherman Union. If you do not select a time slot to attend, the Orientation Office will assign you.

This program is mandatory for all international students.
