Undergraduate Academic Advisor

Kaylyn Dorsey joined the Undergraduate Program in  Neuroscience after completing a dual license masters program at Bridgewater State University in Mental Health Counseling and School Adjustment Counseling in May 2019. Prior to beginning her masters program, Kaylyn attended Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts and studied psychology and sociology. Following her undergraduate program, Kaylyn worked in the field as an Associate Behavior Therapist and provided therapy and support for children on the autism spectrum. Passionate about helping others, Kaylyn decided to further her education in a masters program that would allow her to support and work closely with individuals in a variety of settings.

During her Masters program, Kaylyn completed a graduate assistantship which allowed her to work as an undergraduate Academic Advisor for incoming freshmen and transfer students at Bridgewater State University. During this time she worked closely with students to help them plan out and work towards their academic goals in accordance with both university and major requirements. In addition to assisting students with academic planning, Kaylyn also worked closely with students to help provide support and resources for their overall transition to college.

Enjoying her positive experiences working in the higher education setting, Kaylyn is excited to take on the role of Academic Advisor in the undergraduate neuroscience program and hopes to promote a positive and supportive environment for all students as they strive towards completing their academic goals and coursework.
