New Research Uses BU Campus as “Living Lab”
Based on new research from Boston University College of Arts & Sciences (CAS) senior Wiley Hundertmark, BU’s Facilities Management & Operations team will pilot changes to the way it maintains the landscaping on campus in collaboration with the Hutyra Research Lab. The project is a prime example of an innovative new model BU is embracing to use its campus as a living research laboratory to advance sustainability practices.
A new funding opportunity launched in March 2020 to support similar campus-based research efforts. Campus Climate Lab invites students and faculty to submit research proposals to generate new knowledge on the impacts and mitigation of climate change in support of the University’s Climate Action Plan. The most promising ideas will be selected for funding and implementation at BU.
First-round applications are due Wednesday, April 1, 2020.
